Authorized Maryland Inspection Station

What to do after failing the Maryland inspection

An inspection report gives you a list of safety items to address. Start with that report, arrange the repairs, and keep track of the date and mileage before returning to VCD AUTO REPAIR 4 in Hyattsville.

The re-inspection window

Return to the same inspection station within 30 days of the original inspection and with fewer than 1,000 additional miles on the vehicle. Both conditions must be met. Outside that window, or at a different station, a complete inspection is required.

A recheck of the repaired items

Within that window, re-inspection focuses on the items that failed and any additional defect observed visually. It is a visual recheck when the repair can be verified visually; some items need testing or further examination to verify the repair.

Choose where to repair your vehicle

You may repair the items wherever you choose — and we can do the repairs here. Call with your failed-inspection report so we can discuss the listed items and current availability.
